Globally, telecommunications wireline and wireless revenues will total approximately $1.3 trillion in 2006, with industry projections of single-digit percentage growth over the next five years.  Growth is expected to be dominated by wireless and data, which estimates suggest may total three-quarters of a more than $1.6 trillion market by 2011.

Major telecommunications markets outside of the U.S. include Western Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.  Over the next five years, revenue growth is expected to be higher in Latin America and the remainder of the world, compared with the expected single-digit growth in the more mature markets in the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific.
