Catherine Webster is senior vice president and treasurer for Verizon, responsible for corporate-wide financing activities, cash management and pension and insurance activities, a position she has held since Nov. 1, 2005.

Prior to her current position, Webster was senior vice president-Investor Relations, the corporation’s primary liaison with the investment community and Verizon’s shareholders. She also served as vice president - Finance, responsible for all financial matters for both the Enterprise Solutions and Wholesale Markets business units.

Previously Webster was vice president - Finance for Verizon’s Network Services and Wholesale Markets organizations. She has held a number of leadership positions in the Finance organization, including key positions in Financial Analysis and Planning at the Corporate level and at the telecom business.

Webster began her career in 1978 at Bell Atlantic-New Jersey (formerly New Jersey Bell) where she has held a number of financial positions in internal auditing, security, financial operations, corporate books and regulatory accounting. In 1993 she was named director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Telecom/Network. In May 1996, she was appointed to assistant vice president - Financial Planning for Bell Atlantic’s Corporate Finance group.

Webster earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from New Jersey City University. She began her career with a large public accountant firm and became a certified public accountant.
